let me know what you think
Hi David - My suggestion is for you to tie up 11 more and send them to me for field testing. Seriously, it looks fine, and it will surely catch fish. Nice job!..Ed
david, the best thing about PTs is that even when we all follow a recipe, the results are all different. yours looks like you know how to tie a fly; let us know when you get a chance to test it! if you need assistance in that endeavor, pm me and i’ll volunteer to help.
Nice fly. That will definately take a few fish for you.

thanks guys ill let yous know how it works ok
Its a bit hard to see from your pic but I can’t see if yours has a flashback or not. I find that the flashback works a bit better on some days and some days the natural pheasant tail colour works best . So I tie some of each.
One tip to give the fly a bullet proof body is to wrap the Pheasant tail body fibers round and round the thread then wrap the rope that is created on the hook. also for the peacock thorax you can wrap that around the tying thread also to make it bullet proof.
Yours is a very nice tie and I am sure it will catch fish.
There is a saying give a man a fish and he will eat for a day , teach him how to fish and he will always have something to eat.
It also applies to fly tying.
Give a man some flies and he will catch fish for a day, teach him how to tie flies and he will be too broke to buy food.
Looks like a well tied fly! Only thing I’d change would be to shorten up the tail a bit and utilize the natural tips, Hard to tell for sure from the pic. But it looks as though they may have been trimmed to length after they were tied in…But…The ptn is a generic pattern and I do not think it really imitates any specific insect…so there can be many variables…Nice looking fly!!
Hope I didn’t come off as a nit picky bass tud,as I was not trying too…
