help finding a name and pattern

Hey Gang,

I need your help. In the past few months I’ve seen a streamer pattern in a few different magizines. I actually purchased both mags and can’t find either one now.

The pattern I’m looking for is a large streamer. Very large I think they were tying it on a 6/0. It has a folded foam head similar to a crease fly.

Don’t know what else I can say about it. Hope you can help me out.

if you can find the winter issue of fly tyer magazine, i think the fly is called a ‘foam head baitfish’. it starts on page 24.

try a GOOGLE search for it also. type in ‘foam head baitfish fly pattern’

This is very close to the Realistic Foam-Head Streamer which was in the Winter issue of fly Tyer magazine. Primary difference is that the tie in the maagazine had the gill section of the head more rounded, a more symetrically tapered body, and was all synthetic hair (no hackle in the tail). I have scaled this pattern down to #2 & #4 for WW bass.
