Helicopter rescue on the Susquehanna River today!

I don’t know what this chap was doing out there on the ice. It’s not uncommon for folks to wander out onto the river during ice up. The results are usually more tragic than this. Here is the raw video and article:

A huge THANK YOU to the troopers and pilot of that helicopter. The world got to see how great our State Troopers are before and now they risk it all again to save a this person. I Salute them!

This has been updated since my original post. We now know that this was a young fellow being treated for mental illness. Evidently when River Rescue tried to approach him he became frightened. He is safe and getting help now thanks to our State Troopers.
