When you need a break from tying standard PT nymphs. Found it here
hook - Dai Riki 135 #12
thread - UTC 70 grey brown
tail - golden pheasant tippet
rib - x-small wire copper
abdomen - golden pheasant tail
shellback - large tinsel opal
thorax - Ice Dub Hare’s Ear tan
bead - gold 3.2mm

I noticed that the original you referenced used Golden Pheasant tail fibers for the tail. You used golden pheasant tippet for the tail. Is there a reason for this change in your pattern?

If the moderators could change the thread title to “Hedgehog Nymph (variation)”, I’d be grateful.

My attempts with golden Pheasant tail some some turkey body feather fibers for a darker nymph.

ScottP,
This pattern is a winner - going in the nymph box. Thanks for posting.
