Nice flies, Scott.

There’s some hot weather forecast here over the next week or so, and the water levels are coming down nicely and getting in good shape.

You should have some prime early season fishing by the time you arrive.

Thanks for the update John. Looks like my timing will be good; last year, rivers were a lot higher, although by the time I got out there in August they were in great shape. Save me some fish.

I’m working on some ties for my son Michael who will be up there (MT) the first week in August…I did this one for him and if it works (heh,heh)…I’ll be sending in the recipe with photos:

SOUTHERN CROSS -TMC C400BL, #14 - #16…Bobwhite Quail is involved…

Forget the big stuff. #12 Peacock Clacka. My clients boated over a hundred today on dries (blancos included), and though the #10 Yellow PMX and #8 Salmonfly Chernobyl got their share, by far the most fish came on the Clacka. One of the clients was out for his second trip ever and still got 30+, 2/3 on dries. The other guy grew up in Dillon and I never changed his rig from PMX/Clacka --he had five eats in the launch eddy while I was rigging the other guy.

It was a very good pattern for me last summer, so I was thinking about tying some, and it occurred to me that I might be able to incorporate some peacock Ice Dub in an FEB. It looks decent, but it remains to be seen if the fishies will like it. Should know later today.
