This is a interesting article I came across called “Head Cement - A Bit of Casual Research and its history”. There are a lot of good facts pointed out in the article.
Interesting article. Thanks for posting.
Dave
They have quite the assortment in there. Did they list Sallies?
humm…lets see who uses what.
I have been tying for almost 30 years, I use “Never Chips polish protector *European Formula Nail Secrets”. Right or wrong, I use head cement on all of my flies.
Yes, Sallies is listed.
Great article. Thanks! I have used “Hard as Nails” for decades…never yellows, always holds and works just like the name says.
Do you use it straight or do you thin it? If the latter, what do you thin it with?
Dave
I use it right from the bottle, no need for thinning…I also would suggest simply replacing the bottle each year if you are just a casual tyer. I find the clear is nice enough when you apply a few coats, letting it dry between coats. They also have lots of colors…red, black, etc…
If you want to thin Sally’s or any nail polish use acetone.
