something that blundered through my mind this morning while i was wool gathering.
what triggers a hatch? i’m sure there is no one thing, but light, temperature, time of year, moon phase, what?
we are having a very mild winter so far and i was curious if there might be more hatches (or really more different hatches) right now.
recovering from ankle surgery so please don’t say just get out there and watch. if i could, i might not be asking the question.

miamission;
I’d like to ride along on this. It’s been very mild and dry up here also. Last winter we’d get several inches of snow but it would melt before the next snowfall. This year we are getting 1 - 2 inchs and then melting!
