Yesterday I received my February 2007 edition of Fly Fisherman. Featured in the magazine is the New Gear 2007. As I waded through the goodies, my eyes caught the Hardy Zane Ti listed at $9,700  You have better been GOOD for Santa to be bring you this!
Where can I get a couple? I ask myself.
Fort Knox!
And I thought the Orvis 150th Wes Jordan special was high. I really think you could make one out of solid d*mn gold for that!
I asked Santa for a 3wt., a 5wt., and a 7wt., in silver to match the new Ferrari that I also asked him for.

Actually, I put a new fly rod on my Santa list and my mother asked what I thought of Hardy rods…maybe she’s getting me one of these? ![]()
I’ll tell you right up front. If anybody gives me that for Christmas.
I’m going to sell it. ![]()
I can only hope at that price that a Zane Ti is a thirty-two foot motorized camper with four bunks, a shower and complete kitchen. 8T
Can we say what kind of contest is the guy in that buys one of those. Do they stand on the crick bank and have a little brochure in thier vest( if they condesend to wear such things) that provides a list with prices for gear and accessories. Can we say “Screaming conspicuous consumption”. (oh pleeeease Dear Lord put some of that stuff in my stocking this year. Ive been sooo good)
It would appear that only 100 of these reels were made and 50 have been sold so I have been informed . The cost is due to the tole it takes on the mechanery to make them and time etc .
Brian :tieone:
More info on the reel , the cost over here in the UK is ?5000 and I have asked santa for a matched pair.

Put it in perspective. The cost of the Hardy is mere babbles compared to the cost of the diamond necklace my wife would like for Christmas. Both are not in our picture. Socks for me, slippers for her. How many times have we heard, it’s not the gift but the thought behind it. Socks again?
