To all who celebrate it a very HAPPY BOXING DAY to you and yours!
I always wished we would make it an official holiday here in the states.

I’ve always wondered, what exactly is “boxing day”? I’ve googled it before and found numerous descriptions of it and some seem to be very different than others for some reason. Anyone care to share what it really means?

In England in the grand old days maids butlers etc. The family of the house had their day on Christmas the servants of course had to set up clean up etc. no fun for them. The day after was the day that the servants had their Christmas and opened their boxes, and visited relatives etc. It was called Boxing day. I think it is a wonderful Idea.
