I have no knowledge of CR hackle and what I am about to say is total speculation but it sounds like it might have some connection to Conranch hackle. Same town in Washington. Similar grading system–Jv hens,etc. Similar colors–I thought I saw a red dun somewhere. Even the CR. If this is simply wrong then I apologize in advance.
