I have someone asking about a Pale Greenwell Cock Saddle. Any idea what color this is in like American Hackle products. Or if it some other type of hackle.

Bill,
I would venture to say that the hackle referred to is that used on the European pattern Greenwell’s Glory. This would be the Coch-y-Bondhu or Furnace (but a paler shade than normal).(???)

Hi Bill’
Sounds like a ginger Furnace or a Honey Dun.
Hebert has it.

Greenwell is a dark centre and ginger outer. A pale greenwell will have dark centre with a paler ginger out.
Coch Y Bondu and furnace are much redder and darker than a greenwell.
Mick,
Is Greenwell"s a Furnace ( black tips) or Badger (no black tips) ?
Jim
Pale greenwell is , as stated above, by Jim & Mick a light furnace or a very dark honey dun, if you follow my drift.
Furnace is black centre with very red tips.
Cochybonddu is black centre; red middle stripe and black outermost list
I like a badger or a creamy badger, preferring one with a dark outer list.
Here’s a photograph of a light/medium greenwell rooster saddle
Hope that helps, if not stimulates discussion

Thanks guys. Seems like it is some where around a ginger to a furnace. This at least gives me an idea of the color.
Bill
Jim its like a badger with no black tips.
