Well they stocked Gwynns falls in northwest Baltimore county today, and I was there not 2 hours later catching em. They stocked rainbows about 12 inches with a few monsters in there, with a few golden trout. I caught a total of 9 trout, but the limit was 2 per person, so I just kept a rainbow and a golden. It was cold wet wading, but worth it!

I caught this beaut below a small falls on a black wooly bugger. But my friend had to run out and net him because it ran around a fallen tree root. He tasted good with old bay and lemon juice.
Good stuff. But did you know you were breaking the law as the stream is actually closed to any fishing until Opening Day this Saturday, the 29th?
Well I wasn’t the only one, and our area was open to fishing.

It says these areas are stocked and open to fishing, including Gwynns falls.(In the columns in red)
Ok. The wording is very confusing. It states, in bold:
Starting on March 9 at 10pm MDNR’s first closure of the year for a number of Put & Take trout locations will begin, the first closure period continues until March 29 at 5:30am. The following table will list locations which are currently open to trout fishing and have been stocked
Gwynns Falls is listed. It is also listed in the stocking spreadsheet as being closed until the 29th.
Anyway, I dont begrudge you for fishing. The DNR site isnt very clear, one way or the other.
