To those of you who build bamboo do you use preformed grips or cork rings that you turn down yourself? Also does anybody know of any builder/instructors in CT?

Most bamboo rod makers turn the cork grips from rings clamped directly onto the butt section of the rod. Making a cane rod is such an involved process that grip turning is, by far, one of the simplest operations. Good luck!
