i fished these a bit in idaho for trout with sporadic result. many more damsel flies in kansas so i thought i’d try some here as soon as the hockey rinks thaw and damsels are active. +9F in haysville tonight.

Adult Green Damsel
We have a lot of blue ones…
yep we have blue ones but nobody ever shows a green one. besides i couldn’t find my blue yarn!
Wes,
I’m thinking those would be awesome on some Mississippi Largemouth Bass!
I need some tips on that blue damsel. I have a spot where are thousands of those all summer, and they give all of our finny friends a very fine buffet.
Well, one tip I would give you is …you see the foam under the thorax…and Wes did it too…that gives a much better chance of the fly landing upright…also note we are using furled extended bodies…make the body to the length that matches your local damsels.
I tie and use damsels and dragons a lot. I’ve done the extended furled bodies quite a few times but I like this material best for damsels, especially the smaller ones. http://www.jsflyfishing.com/cgi-bin/item/SM-730175-0000/66200/Hareline--Adult-Damsel-Body-Braid.html
Bigger dragons usually always get a FEB ‘tail’.
I also like using a foam back, but over a dubbed abdomen (blue yarn chopped in a coffee grinder), or an abdomen of a few wraps of blue chenille.
Nice! I have had tremendous luck with a damsel nymph fly around here… You won’t be disappointed.
