Graphite arrows for a color wand and practice wrap

Archery ranges are always tossing out broken arrows. I make a point of picking up a few each time I go to one. I use them for color wands and practicing wraps and weaves. I use the graphite ones as they are the
same color as most blanks and accurately display the colors after epoxy saturates the thread. You also see how the colors look on the black blank and next to each other.

I have also done this and it is a great way to compare colors and differenct adhesives on the graphite

A very good tip! IMO this is a good refernce tool for those interested in building rods. Colour sticks as I call them are likely the best reference guide a rod builder can have. When I started repairing rods I found it critical to be able to match thread colours on a customers rod so it can be returned looking like a new rod without a repair. Colour sticks finished with all thread colours and completed with and w/o colour preserver show the true colours of threads after epoxy has been cured over them. I have gone so far as to make these up on various colours of old rod blanks, for grey graphite is not the only colour of rod blank out there and colours do vary based on the application.
