Sorry if this is an obvious question, but what does Grand Poo-bah mean? I’ve seen Castwell use it numerous times, as well as other users, is it just a nickname?
Thanks - David

Although I question whether anyone should actually know information like this, here it is anyway - I think its from a Gilbert & Sullivan musical about an egotistical guy who named himself “Lord High Everything Else.” I apologize for even knowing that.
Not to answer in place of JC, … But wasn’t that the name of the head of the “lodge” in the Flintstones (Where fred and Barney worn the big “buffalo” hats with horns sticking out each side).
For those who seem to have the impression the name Grand Poo-bah is a title of power and entitlement which Castwell uses; the truth is it is a JOKE. He is poking fun at himself.
That’s all - no other hidden anything.
Dr…Doe? I like it. I gotta say this. It reminds me of a recent quip I posted somewhere…“There are 3 kinds of people in this world, those who can count, and those who can’t…???”
Someone replied…yeah…and those that can count, do…and those that can’t…become teachers!"
Sorry but this thread just turned into a pleasurable fun read and I couldn’t help it.
Rio Bravo?..It’s good but my 2 favorites are “Big Jake”, full of “John Wayne-isms”, & “The Quiet Man”…ya gotta love watching Ward Bond flyfishin’ until his attention went to the fight!

Shane…the only thing missing from that movie is the Duke. Filmed over 50 years ago the cinamatography was way before its time. How did they get that dog to slowly walk across the saloon floor just before the gunfight?
