gquall's itty bitties

Pictures! I am sorry some of them are lacking focus. Three different flies here, some other items included for scale. I am sorry if the pictures are too big, you may need to move scroll around a bit to find the fly.

Sidenote: I bought a pretty strong magnet about a week ago, because I was dropping hooks and losing them in the carpet. I was very thankful to have that magnet tonight as I must have dropped these little buggers 5 times while shooting them. LoL

gquall: Thanks so much for sending these! They are really cool! Hope to get to use them someday. Not too many trout in northern Missouri. :frowning: But someday… lol I gotta work on my skillllllzzzzzzzz

(sorry my fingers were definitely what was in focus in that one)

all 3

Thanks again Greg! By the way, would you mind listing the materials here in this thread so people can attempt to tie them if they feel up for the challenge?

Cheers!

AlbaSurf,

My puter is a laptop, so when I was scrolling down through your photos I kept asking myself, why does this person have so many pictures of a clear push pin? Then I realized that I needed to move the image around on my screen in order to see the fly and the vice…LOL! I need a bigger puter screen! Anyway, I like to fish the small stuff. I usually end up putting them on as droppers off the hook bend of a floater.

Best regards, Dave S. (fishdog54)

LoL! Oops! Hmmm, I’m not really sure how to resize them to make it easier on people to see. But I am glad you figured it out and hopefully others will be able to as well!

Thanks again Albasurf. The materials for the flies are as follows:

Tail: Wood Duck (Coq De Leon works well)
Body: Brown XS Wapsi Stretch Tubing ( Rust colored twitch also works)
Abdomen: dark brown dubding, scud backing, .5mm yellow razor foam ( get a piece of 1/8inch scud backing and split it in half, then take the 1/16 inch piece and split it about 1/4 inch and tie it in, then tie in razor foam, then dub thorax, tie in legs, pull over foam, then pull over scud backing (pull hard to achieve split effect), then whip finish.
Legs: Wood Duck
Thread: 12/0 Dark Brown (Hook and Hackle European thread)
Bead: 1.5mm or 2.0mm bronze tungsten ( or black nickel)

The smallest fly is a #24 olive midge; Thread body, really small copper wire used for segmentation, small amount of Rainbow dubbing, wood duck legs, 1.5mm bronze tung bead, 12/0 olive European thread from Hook and Hackle, Hook is a #24 Daiichi 1130.

nothing but quality flies from gqualls!!
