alright - I’m dying to get into a swap it has been 4-5 years since I’ve been in a swap, and none have been going on so I’m going to host my own with some encouragement from a few others…
standard rules apply as far as including container with shipping for it already, tags blah blah blah you guys know the drill.
this is your goto fly’s; can be a nymph & a dry, a pair if you have good success with an attractor & a tail… if you don’t have goto fly’s, but a few favorites cool this swap is meant to accommodate.
when we get 12 people we’ll close the swap, and flies will be due 1 month after the swap closes. this will be a total of 24 flies.
this is also being hosted on utah on the fly website
as of 9:02 MST 8/29/09 we have 7 in the swap still looking for 5 more

Update
we will close this swap at the end of August. flies will be due the end of September.
I still have no idea what I’m going to tie my goto dry fly is an elk hair caddis, and my nymph a RS2, but I don’t think anybody needs more elk hair caddis in their fly box…
Pretty simple really. Pick 2 flies that you won’t leave home without. Tie 12 each. Put a toe tag (just a slip of paper with your screen name and the name of the fly will do) on each fly. Send them to Solowookie in a crushproof container, along with an envelope and return postage or money to cover it. When Solo has all the flies he divides them up amongst us and ships them out to us.
By the way, Solo, I need that shipping addy. The flies are almost done and I need to mail them before the steelhead fishing gets going hot and heavy.
Okay, my number 1 go-to fly is a mohair leech, but that’s way too simple. Just an orange bead, marabou tail, and Uni-Mohair body. How about a beadhead trout fly I came up with (we’ll call it the KS Spring Creek Special), and a soft hackle wet fly?
The trout fly is a go-to, and the soft hackle is just a fun tie that catches bluegills.
Hiya Wookie…been awhile, hope you are doin okay…You can count me in for a olive biot nymph that has really done well this year and a size 20 BWO parachute that I wouldn’t be without! Looking forward to a great swap…Jason
a couple of updates - we will close this swap at the end of August, and flies will be due the end of September. I will add these updates to the original post.
with the way work is ramping up all of a sudden it may be a real adventure to get these flies tied.
FYI - my daughter will not be tying go to flies, but rather whatever she can get tied. she is still a beginner. if this not OK with anyone let me know.
