Dogs Been Out for a Winter Walk?
When you come back in, check paws for salt or chemical deicers that may have been spread on sidewalks or pavement. It could hurt the pads or cause cracks in them. Wipe or wash off ASAP.

I have a GSD and GR and I put Vaseline on the Golden Retievers paws when the weather is cold and he is going to be running in snow… he gets ice balls or clumps under his paws real bad.
My German Shepherd this does not happen to ?

Excellent advice, had the problem with my lab when I lived in Michigan.
my sausage ha boots as did my other dogs
Labs and the like have webbed feet.
