I’m not American and I do not understand your culture, but I think I understand exactly what Benjo is looking for, and I too would be interested in a site that he found to fill those criteria.

Well, I have been to some gun forums and I would like to find a place where people were discussing the diffenences between a .300 win mag. and a .300 remington instead of discussing trailer defense firearms.
namekagon, I seek a forum where people discuss hunting firearms and long range target shooting and I prefer to be in the company of those interested in the same, so if you don’t fall into that catagory I can recommend any of the forums that haven’t met my criterion.

Actually there are several shooting forums
that are extremely technical…dealing with
load and even firearm development.
Also like any board…fly fishing included…
they have their share of people with elitist
attitudes.

Benjo, just found one on Bass Pro’s home page, don’t know how long they have been around or how good they are. might check them out.

Like most of the decisions in my life, it was my choice to read this thread. I thought it oddly out of place in a flyfishing web site, thus it tweak my curiosty. Sadly I found myself confronted by yet another poor decision of my own making. As one who both lives in a trailer and holds some reasonable concerns for personal safety, warrented by both experience and circumstances. I found myself somewhat dismayed by comments and references offered in this thread. But it was after all my choice to read it so hold no anamosity tword the author of such statements. The best all-around firearms forum is at Outdoorsbest. I know you have had trouble there in the past, and there are some really radical pro-gunners over there, but there are also a lot of hunters and just regular shooters who are very knowledgeable.
Maybe try the hunters board over there. There are more hunters who would discuss hunting firearms rather than home defense.

You will get less traffic there than on the main shooters board, but you will also find what you are looking for.
