yellow folded foam popper with a white tail and a green popper w/o legs maribou tail, about #8, nothing special , did best when left to sit , all stikes within 10/15 sec . they mouthed the bug so long that hook sets couldto be slow 2-4 sec. water bath tub warm and fish sluggish.
got a bass on a new pattern I am trying for gill but seem to always get bass>…

Nice fly. Have you thought about making it green chartreuse with another pair of legs and the bead-chain eyes forward? Good little light green subsurface froggie . LMB will give you a big kiss for a little light green subsurface froggie

Sweet fly,Even sweeter Gill’s…Rod a Cabela’s three forks…?..just looks a little like one I have…great rods for the money…Next week I’ll be getting a shot at a pond I grewup fishing back home in PA…and hope to play a few Bull Gill’s myself…Thanks for sharing your day and flies with us all…
“I’ve often wondered why it is that so many anglers spend so much money on,and pay so much attention to.the details on the wrong end of the fly line.If they took as much care in selecting or tying their flies as they did in the selection of the reel and rod,They might be able to gain the real extra edge that makes it possible to fool a fish that has,in fact, seen it all before” A.K.Best
“Wish ya great fishing”
