Gone Fishing

Went fishing yesterday with Jack H., Warren P. and Liljoe+ on the elk river just below the Dam. Jack and I didn’t catch anything but Joe brought in one. Warren couldn’t fish because of his arm but he did walk the bank and gave Joe and I some good fishing pointers. Thanks guys for a great day. Sorry for the bad pictures. Not a very good camera.

Nice to see a stream again, glad you could get out.

Had a great time and liljoe said that its been over 2 years since he has been fishing. It is a good place to spent the afternoon, or day, with friends.

Looks like you guys had fun, Warren is tempting the weather demons wearing short pants to the river in January. He may get hate mail from the NE in the next few day. I have several “have to” trips with the family this year, I hope I can wrangle another up the Duck sometime during the year.

Uncle Jesse

Hope to see and fish with you this year. I am sure that Warren and Jack will go fishing any time. I am glad that Warren was able to get out of the house and join us on the river, even if it was just on the bank. LOL

That’s the great part of fishing, the friends.

I really enjoyed getting out and near water. It felt good to be wearing shorts and feeling the warmth of the sun. I think the temperature was in the low 50’s and I never felt cold. The guys did get cold because the water temperature was 46 degrees. I really wanted to fish, but, I am willing to wait until the surgeon gives me the OK. I do not want to damage my shoulder now that it is healing. I go back to have a check-up with the surgeon on Mar. 17th, and hopefully. he will give a release to do some tying and fishing. I am still having therapy 3 times per week and I can feel improvement and more shoulder movement with each day.

It for sure was a good time in spite of no fish but I did find out just how out of shape I am. Got home sat down and could hardly get up to go to bed!!
See you guys for coffee in Bell Buckle tomorrow afternoon.

Had a great time out there with everyone. Looking forward to hitting the river again with y’all very soon!!

The measurements of fly fishing: 1 part man, 1 part fish, and all God. I like this.
Warren, mend quickly. I feel so jealous seeing you in shorts. We just got another 10 inches of snow dumped on us here in Central, PA.
Newbee, listen well and your learning curve will be much smaller. I’ve never fished with these guys, but through their postings, they know of what they speak.

lastchance,

I wore shorts again this morning for my therapy session. It is suppose to push the 60’s today and 72 on Thursday and then rain and temps back to the 50’s. You know you could slip down here this spring/summer and I would enjoy showing you my rivers. This is your open invitation.

You are correct in telling me to keep my eyes, ears and mind open when I am around these guys. You can not help but learn something if you watch how and what they fish with, and place that info in your mind for future use. They are a gift to me and I am really honored that they will let me hang around and learn from them, not only about fly tying but how to fly fish also.
