Not sure if this one came before the Klinkhammer, but it’s a neat fly and very easy to tie. Original calls for gold calftail wing (in the process of dyeing some up) but used the synth here; also swapped out black hackle for grizzly.
hook - Dai Riki 125 #12
thread - Danville 6/0 cream
shuck/wing - Congo Hair pale gold
body - Congo Hair cream
hackle - grizzly
Part 1
mash barb, start thread, tie in CH, wrap to bend
fold tag end over (let it extend shank length past the eye), tie down and wrap to eye; trim butts
post the wing, tie in hackle (shiny side out)
tie in a few strands of body material; wrap to base of wing, tie off/trim
