Glucosamine works great for old dogs who are having trouble getting around. I have used it on two dogs, have many friends and relatives who use it and have had two vets confirm it. Buy the cheap people stuff at COSTCO or some place like that. Give a people dose.
bluehackle, thank you,my wife says i remind her of a old dog, always in the dog house building rods or tying bugs lol the stuff works.
make a rod, catch a fish
Bluehackle,
Yup, I used to give it to a horse. Now the horse never really SAID she felt better, but she did seem a bit more “mobile”

“The more widely one observes nature, the more it appeals to one’s soul. Why? Because there is a music there; and the wider one’s outlook on life becomes, the deeper one’s understanding of life, the more music one can listen to, the music that
answers the whole universe.” --Inayat Khan
It works fantastically on my horse.
WOW!!..This is great! You folks are really creative. Bluehackle, my old Cocoa (Shepherd/Chow mix) is having hip problems…I may have to try it. Thanks!

Hi bluehackle,
Gretchen & I get dog treats at Costco with Glucosamine/condroitin <S> in them. Dubbing loves them and still gets around fairly well. Take care & …

Well, I sure appreciate this information … thanks!
Have a black lab (Molly) who just turned 16 this month. As anyone knows, this is old for a lab. Molly is 100% lab and I know she came from a good line. The vet had me put her on a baby asprin every day which has helped some but the old girl is a little slow getting up. Will certainly start giving her some glucosamine TODAY.
Without a doubt, this has been the best dog that’s ever taken up with me! A lot of kids in the neighborhood grew up with and are now in college or starting to raise their own families. Not a mean hair on her, just a real sweet disposition. Lousy watch dog though … she loves everybody. You could steal anything I got (including her), providing you tossed her a stick or a ball a couple of times!
There is a product for dogs I have heard very good things about called Canine Cortaflex. It contains three supplements to treat joint ailments: Glucosamine Sulfate, Chondroitin Sulfate and Methyl Sulfano Methane (MSM.) It is in liquid form and flavored. The company also makes formulas for horses and humans.
