Here is a shorter version of the glow part. I think this one is going to hunt so to speak. I think panfish and crappie are going to eat this fly soon. Let me know what you think and how can I improve this fly. I want to make a soft hackle one too.
Anyone not commercially tying jigs can PM me for help with the glow product and we can talk. Who knows maybe I will give my secret up now since I have had it for 1 1/2 years. I just wanted to pay my self back for the investment and research to figure this out. However I still don’t want a few of my jig tying competitors getting this. I really don’t have any interest in keeping it from people on this board that are tying flies and I don’t want to start selling glow flies. I do want to sell flies on my web site, but that is not what this is about.
Skip48, you’re such a tease. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen anyone on this board tease us quite like you have with this body material. I won’t request your secret material, that way I can never be tortured for that information from your competitors. I’m content in my ignorance.
Skip;
This may have been asked, but I’ll ask again anyhooo…
“Does your glo material float”?
Nope, I don’t want your secret formula either. Got enough problems, without one of your competitors hiring a guy named “Guido”,in a pinstripe suit…carrying a violin case…coming to my door.
I’ve enjoyed your flies as well as your fishing expertise, since we met on the “PA Flyfishing site”, last year. But, never remembered to ask you about the “floating” question, before!
I have never put it in the water other than on a jig head so that didn’t float, but I have not put a fly in the water to see that yet. Would have thought I would have done that, but I didn’t. Will let you know.
Y’all sure know how to razz a guy and funny at the same time. There is a small story behind this, but I am not going there.
“Flybinder, reads Skip’s last post and hurriedly shuts off computer… runs around house to lock all doors and windows, then after loading 12 gauge, hides in closet…with door slightly cracked…”
