i started out way back tying trout flies, and fishing for trout… but then i got a taste of stripers on the fly and got distracted… but now i want to get back trout on the fly for a variety of reasons…
what do i need… basics… lines, wts… etc… i have a 1 wt and a 4 wt…
i really want to make it minimalist as possible…
thanks in advance…

Hello crash,
You did not mention if you already have reels for the 1wt and 4wt. As far as rods go, you are Ok if fishing the eastern streams. If you are fishing western trout streams, you might want to add something a little heavier to your armamentarium…like a 5 or 6 wt. For trout lines, I have been using the Orvis Wonderlines on my reels. If your existing reels have extra spools, it will give you a bit more diversity to have heavier line wts for each rod…like a 2wt and a 5wt or you could go down a step.
It is unclear what else you think you will need unless you are thinking tying materials and I am not even going there! Good luck and welcome back.
