Hook - #12-16 2x or 3x long streamer hook
Thread - Dark brown or black
Tail - Brown hackle barbs
Shellback - 1/4-inch section of turkey tail feather
Abdomen - 3-5 strands of peacock herl
Wing case - section of white polypro yarn & a section of turkey tail feather
Thorax - Thread or peacock herl
Legs - Brown hackle

Thanks for posting that fly. The white wing case was originally cotton, which is not the most durable of materials.

Eddie George was an East TN/Great Smoky MT fly fishing legend. He said he used the white wing case material like a sighter when nymph fishing. He said he knew a fish had taken the fly when he couldn’t see it anymore.
