What, on a budget?? No $500 a day lodges with guides and private water, must-go-here-to-catch-real-fish kind of show? Real anglers, public waters, Motel 6 and all?
If it turns out to be like that, not a 23-minute plug for products and outfitters interspersed with sponsor commercials, someone tape it for me. I don’t have TV and nobody around here gets Versus. And then we should invite em to the fish-ins.
Sorry guys, if the copy/paste doesn’t work, it’s called “Dollar Wise Fly”
Hi James,
I am the Executive Producer of “Dollar Wise Fly” which is a new fly
fishing series premiering Feb 15, 2008 on Versus hosted by Conway
Bowman.
Info isn’t up on the Versus site yet will be soon. The series takes
viewers to some of the best fly fishing spots and shows them how to do
it on a budget. There will be some very informative information on the
web site for viewers such as trip details, lodging, times to go etc.
Thank you for your inquiry and we hope you tune in at 9:30 EST on Versus
starting Feb 15.
Best,

I’m going to guess that the 9:30 am on Feb. 15th is the correct date? In your first post Jim you had Feb. 9th. Thanks for bringing this up - I like those Versus shows but they don’t do a great job of posting when they’ll begin. I missed the first couple episodes of the fishing competition this year.
Doug,
Went to the link you offered. Versus.com . It took too long to load and I have Hi-Speed. I found myself wasting my time with MORE football. So, I left. Sorry, my priorities are different than most of America’s. I’ll waste my time with fly fishing, but I won’t waste it with football.
With that said, COME ON GREENBAY!
I’m cheap, and many times I can be bought.
Later Brother,
Golly gee wiz, Mr Wizard! It’s actually on my Time Warner basic cable. Now for the hard part…trying to figure out how to record it. Guess I have to leave a note for my techno-geek son to program it. All I know how to do is turn it on/off and change the channel. Too many boxes and too many remotes. I like podcasts that I can download to my I-Pod and listen to when I’m traveling.
