Fuzzle Flies

Something I ran across, and it might be old hat, but the style certainly looks like it has merit. Those Aussies are a creative lot. Here is a pic of an early attempt I made of the Fuzzle Bugger.

Kind of reminds me of a Mohair Leech, but more flexibility in colors, and textures.

I used Olive Marabou, Light Olive Chenille, and Umpqua Sparkle Blend Frosty Olive, and Hot Orange thread.
Here is a link to an article on the technique and a bunch of different Fuzzles.

The Fuzzle Bugger is a cool looking fly! I was thinking that the USB material would possibly work for Dragonfly nymphs?http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.fishingkaki.com/forum/files/thorax_dragonfly_nymph_227_108.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.fishingkaki.com/forum/viewtopic.php%3Ft%3D67&h=300&w=400&sz=6&hl=en&start=7&tbnid=G8e-UABtcMHUOM:&tbnh=93&tbnw=124&prev=/images%3Fq%3DDragonfly%2BFly%2BPatterns%26gbv%3D2%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DGhttp://www.bcadventure.com/adventure/angling/flies/dragonfly/bottomwa.gifhttp://www.bcadventure.com/adventure/angling/flies/dragonfly/bottomwa.gif
Thanks,

Doug,

I should think it would. I chose the Sparkle Blend for a little contrast against the chenille, though the author recommends darker underbody vs. lighter dubbing, which I seem to have gotten backward. I read on another board where Ice Dub, and other mylar type dubbings were being used to good effect. The article doesn’t say so directly, but there is a product being marketed down under called Fuzzle Dub. I don’t know if it is available stateside or not.

Looks positively rude hehe hahaha must try it out hehe mind you the mohair will flutter around giving it life in the water…good fly…

In this video you will see that while the dubbing does act as a veil of sorts, it also does flex and move a bit during the pause.

now I’m just showing off.
Here is one with a black chenille body, light olive SB, and crawdad orange SB for the collar.

Thanks for the video - yes it’s a good mover and I will definatley try it out.
