This morning, I picked up my good friend Keith Fair (Wirebender on FAOL) & joined a number of others at Grosjean Park in Wooster, Ohio for a twofold project on Apple Creek conducted by Clearfork TU. Helped stock the stream with 1,000 or so rainbows & also hiked the stream cleaning up. In 1 logjam, I fell when the log I was standing on to reach a pop bottle in the jam gave way. Luckily, I was grabbed from behind before I went in over my waders. BTW, I DID get that bottle! In the same jam, but from a different (safer) angle, Keith got an old tire…prize of the day! Actually, we didn’t find the place badly trashed, and that was a good thing. After we finished, it was back to Keiths where Linda had a nice pot of chili ready for us, & my buddy Cole (Keith’s Doberman) greeted me, sat with his head in my lap & allowed me to rub those ears. It was a very good way to spend a chilly Ohio Saturday.
Mike
Yeah right Mike. Ya put radio collars on fish so ya could find em next summer huh. Seriously, good job. I need to get involved in somethin like that. If we all did a little bit it would add up.
Mike Your handle is Ohio TUBER . So why weren’t you wearing your tube when you went for a dip? Safety first you know. We’d hate to lose you because…ummm …err… well there’s probably a reason we’d hate to lose you so be a little more careful would ya?
Way to go on the cleanup by the way. I have noticed that the creeks and lakes around here are looking a little cleaner, I hope the trend continues. The waters of the Idaho fish-in were almost 100% trash free. I just found one empty plastic bottle on a sand bank on the Selway.
But Mike, was the nickle return for the pop bottle really worth swimming for?
Man I heard you were cheap but that sure takes the cake. LMAO hahahahahahahahaha.
By the way bin der done dat. hahaha
Don’t tell me you thought we wouldn’t laugh at you!!
Clyde,
SSSHH…don’t tell my secret!
I seldom had (or made) the time to get involved, but decided that this was more important to do now than fishing today. Actually, it is gatherings like this that guarantee our fishing in pleasant surroundings in the future. I also met a fantastic bunch of people. In fact, I hauled trash with a young Park Employee who has not yet flyfished, but is interested. I exchanged email addresses with Chad, & will introduce him to flyfishing in the Spring…he’s too involved with bowhunting now, & said it will be Spring.
Mike
I read your post to Maggie and she is very upset with you after hearing you take up time with Cole! I hope she will forgive you. Only time will tell.
I am in no condition to answer this!! Can’t stop laughing!!

We don’t want to lose “Mikey” cause then who would make the Peanut Butter Fudge
Bill
Good job Mike. Every bit of litter picked up makes a big difference. Sounds like you had fun.
Gnu Bee…We don’t have “refunds” here in Ohio…maybe I’ll mail the bottle to Jack up in Michigan.
Folks,
I HAVE to explain about Maggie…she’s Warrens’ little pug & the dog LOVES me! Jack said he laughed because he could just see it again. That pup spent almost full time in my lap during our visit. What a sweetheart of a dog! Funny, but I did mention to Keith & his wife Linda about Maggie when Linda tried to get Cole to leave me alone. I didn’t want him to leave…give me kids & dogs ANY day!
Mike
Mike,
You are making matters worst now! You called Maggie a “pug”! She is a Boston Terrier and now she is really upset with you! I guess you are going to have to come to Tn. and have a “sit down” talk with her and maybe she will forgive you. BTW, if you make the trip, bring a fly rod!!
Mike,
Did I here that right? YOU fell into the Logjam and cleared it? That would make you SUPERTUBER!!!
Doug
Warren,
Aw, who cares about titles…pug, Boston Terrier, Bull Mastiff…so what?..I just love little Maggie!
I will certainly bring fly rod(s) with me on ANY trip to Tennessee!
Doug, I AM Super Tuber!
Mike
Mike,
I think it’s time that flyfishing has a Super Hero!
Your elected! You’ll have to ask JC permission first. Your super powers can be hashed out in our first meeting.
Thanks,
Doug
That’s the name for your canoe! “The Ohio SuperTuber”!
