Just wanted to see what you guys thought of Froghair.
Tastes like chicken.
Hoochman,
I have used Frog Hair EZ- On and Ultimate Strike Indicators for several years and I like them.
I have not used other Frog Hair products like leaders or tippet.

Hoochman…
I use their fluro tippet material. I find that it is a little softer than other fluorocarbon material but just as strong.
Hope this helps,
DickM.
I agree with DickM. I’ve used their fluro, as well and it’s much softer than anything i’ve used before. I prefer more stout material, but if you like softer leader/tippet material, it’s very good.
I have the whole leader kit by Frogs Hair. A little more money but worth every penny. I think it is some of the best tippet material.
I really like there indicators also.
I also use Frog’s Hair flourocarbon for my tippets
Overpriced. Try Rio.
I like frog hair- i think it catches more fish, but its pricey. I think you should just try different types of brands and see which one you like.
For the past 5-6 years I have used Frog Hair flourocarbon leaders and tippet material for steelhead fishing. I wouldn’t use anything else. No problems with it even in the coldest weather. I’m sure that there are other products out in the market just as good or better. I will stick with what works for me. The price is no higher than the other highly rated flourocarbon leaders and tippet material. Sometimes you get what you pay for. I would hate to lose a trophy fish just because I saved a few pennies.
I love Froghair. It’s the price that makes me quiver…but I treat myself. I seem to get more and better hook sets when I’m using really small flies.
Good stuff though Rio is still hard to beat
I use the mono and the flouro and like it but as mentioned it is a little pricey.
To answer your question…I don’t know.
I’m a Seaguar fan but have felt from what I’ve heard 2nd choice would be Froghair…my experience has been mostly fluoro…
I had used Orvis “Super Strong” since I started, but about a year ago bought some Frogs Hair 6X to use for tailwater midge fishing under an indicator. I prefer having Super Strong up to the indicator fly, then Frogs Hair down to the dropper. I seem to get less tangles that way, but YMMV.
I tried the froghair for 3 months, the 1x,2x,3x, 4x, and 5x, and had a heckuva time with it breaking. I finally committed the stack of tippet to the tying bench and bought the Rio. I’m much happier with the rio, great shock strength and very strong, no matter if its freezing or hot.
I have used Frog Hair leaders and tippets for about 6 years. I have tried other leaders, but when you loose the big one. First thing I ask is it the knot or the leader. Usually it is the knot and not Frog Hair. Best of all is their hat. I have to try and talk them out of a new hat.
Yup- cool hat! Have one- wear it.

i like froghair, especially in the lighter tippet sizes (6 and 7x). i don’t use 7x that often, so a spool lasts me a while. i fish mostly warmwater and use orvis superstrong the majority of the time.
i like their tippet material. no problems so far
