a few weeks ago someone posted a question regarding free or unusual tying materials. This is the season for trick or treaters so be sure to check out the kids or grandkids costumes for useable materials. Most of the stuff will probably be on sale after Halloween if you don’t have kids. Most of the materials are synthetics and can be used for saltwater as well as for freshwater flies.
I saw some really great stuff when shopping with my grandkids last weekend. It is worth a slow pensive stroll through the Halloween aisle at Wally world. 
yeah i found this little witches hat with green braids that were like hair. i swear it really is just like human hair except about 10 times as strong. im gonna use it for some mega divers
forgot something…
so also the best time is right after the holidays when everything is going to be marked down to practically nothing
