I happened to go to a Farmers Market while I was visiting CO recently and was given a good quantity of nicely tanned Buffalo trimmings. I was thankful for the material and sent the gentleman a good quantity of flies that I hope he can use. Anyway, the fur is very wiry and the hair ranges in color from dark cream to near black. If anyone would like a chunk, just send me a SASE (use one that’s about 5 x 7) and I’ll get some out to you. PM me and I’ll respond with my mailing address.
I have used Bison in the past and distributed to my fellow TU’ers, the under fur makes very nice nymphs and the guard hair can be used for hair wing streamers. Just for your information.
