Enjoy !

Who’s Charlie Ritz?

Some old guy that had a hotel.

He developed the theory of modern casting techniques (high line speed). Also developed the Ritz grip design among other things.

I have a hardback copy. It is a great read.

The book he wrote is excellent.

Yep, it’s a great book. I was fortunate enough to pick up a first edition copy for $10 at a used book store a few years ago. As I recall, he was the founder, or part of the family, that founded the Ritz-Carlton hotel chain. He was a friend and fishing companion of Ernest Hemingway. Hemingway wrote the forward for the book.

And I thought he made crackers.

Gees, I’m sorry. I guess I should have know this one. I looked him up and learned something. Thanks!

Ritz is also the fisher credited with determining the 60/40 basic formula for leaders: 60% stiff mono for the butt and 40% softer mono for the tip (and tippet).

I downloaded the book and then transfered it to my e-reader, thanks SMC.

I’m told that my PC is correctly configured but that http://www.fishinggarner.com/m2013/a…arles_ritz.pdf does not respond. Any suggestions?
