Folded Foam Emerger SBS

Another Quigley Cripple spawn; cherry-picked parts from Gantner’s Folded Foam and Nemek’s Fast Water emergers that I found over on Planettrout’s site. Tied here as an Epeorus (this would probably do double-duty as a PMD); change colors to suit your needs.

hook - Dai Riki 125 #16
thread - Danville 6/0 pale yellow
shuck - EP fibers olive/brown mix
rib - Midge Krystal Flash pearl
body - marabou yellowish olive/tan
hackle - barred cream
wing - .5mm foam tan

mash barb, start thread; measure (shank length) a strip (3/4 gap width) of folded foam, tie in facing forward over hook eye/trim butts

tie in some EP fibers/rib; fold shuck, wrap halfway down bend

tie in some marabou fibers, twist/wrap body

Part 2

counterwrap rib; tie off/trim

tie in hackle

wrap to wing, tie off/trim; half hitch x 2, SHHAN, trim shuck

Regards,
Scott

Scott,

I’ve started ribbing my smaller patterns with this stuff, from Sulky…It’s a lot tougher than Krystal Flash:
