A little foam for some more positive buoyancy. This would make a passable Traveling Sedge; add legs and it’d work as a hopper.
hook ? TMC 5212 #10
thread - UTC 140 tan
tail/head - 2mm foam tan
body - Zelon dubbing hydropsyche
wing - deer hair
Part 1
mash barb, start thread, wrap to bend
taper foam strip (gap width)
measure (gap width past bend); tie in
brush shank with Super Glue; tie down foam to eye
dub thread/dub first section
Part 2
clean, stack, measure (tips to tail) a clump of deer hair; trim to length/tie in
repeat for the next 2 sections; finish with dubbed head
fold foam over, tie down, add a little dubbing, finish with wraps in front of eye to set head angle; whip finish, SHHAN

Thanks Scott, I think my local 'gills might just take an interest in this one. Thanks again. Take care, John.
I like it Scott! Z-lon dubbing? haven’t seen that before, Looks like hare’s ear. Nice tie Thanks
I get it from Blue Ribbon, in W. Yellowstone; the hydropsyche blend I used here does have hare’s ear. Nice stuff, comes in lots of colors; it’s buggy with a bit of flash.

Scott
That’s a great bream fly, but I would be compelled to add rubber hopper legs.
Mentioned that in the intro.

Scott

Once again you’ve given us another very nice pattern, tie, and SBS. Thank you.
