This is “sort of” fly tying related. I’m in the process of moving and all my gear is packed up. I’ve been looking for a nice piece of furniture that I can use for storing material that matches my oak roll top desk. I came across this antique hardware solid oak storage Lazy Susan made in 1901. It’s 24" across and 38" tall. It has 40 drawers that are 5" wide and 6" tall. Half of the drawers are 12" long and the other half are about 6" long. It has casters on it now, but I’ve ordered a super heavy duty Lazy Susan hardware that I will install. It should make beautiful addition to my new tying room. I kind of pumped up about this beauty so I thought I’d share it. it.
That’s a great find. Putting it on a lazy susan turret is a good idea. You might want to also add some natural cedar to the bottom of the drawers you put feathers in. Some places sell thin cedar planking for lining closets to prevent moths.
That is a thing of beauty and a joy to behold. Those pieces are a rare find and will make sitting at the tying table even more nostalgic.

Actually, when we lived in Miami in the early 70’s there was one time that it got cold enough to snow (sort of). I happened to be out early enough that morning and when I looked up at the streetlight, you could see the occasional snowflake drifting down and some of them actually hit the ground but melted in just a few seconds. Here’s a photo out the back door of the new house. Hopefully, I will never see it covered with snow;)

Thanks mike. It is a beautiful lake and it great sitting out in the Lanai (screened in patio) watching all the wildlife like Wood storks, Egrets, Anhinga, Heron, Cranes, Osprey, Moor Hens, and of course alligators. The only ones I’ve seen so far have been fairly small, with the largest being about five feet long. Our neighbors say that there’s a 8 footer, but I haven’t seen him yet. It’s in a very nice neighborhood, but the houses are closer together than what I’m used to after living in Georgia for the past 40 years. It’s not like if I sneeze, the neighbors yell out “Bless you”, but it’s closer than I’m used to. We’re hoping tp actually make the move on the last day of may. I’ll keep you posted.

I am doing up my tying room right now and am sketching what it would take to replicate that great idea! My son’s old bedroom is my tying room and storage is an issue!

Thank you for that! And especially the name on the tag. I did a simple Google and found a bunch of them… Here is a link to a more complex EBay example with 130 drawers for $2,500…
I looked at the one with 130 drawers. It’s actually not too far from me. If I ended up with something like that, I’d probably have to go buy extra materials just to use all the drawwers up. These cabinets aren’t, but thankfully, I didn’t pay anything like that price… I’d love to see what you make when it’s all done.

There is another one that shows a central steel pointed rod that must act as a rotating feature.
Actually, I think that is the same design but the photos are taken with a very short lens (read cell phone)
