fly tying product Glimmer.. who makes it

its a material that jack gartside has used forever in his flys, now the distributor of
this product hobbs flyfishing has discontinued this material, i contacted them today as i wanted to buy up a good sized hank of it for my future gurglers and sliders etc… now they may not have any of the pearl color at all… doh…

they are going to find out the mfg name of the material so we can try to find another distributor of this… but if anyone out here knows who makes it please post it here…

Good luck on your quest. I wish I could help you. I personally love the stuff and have noticed that it is getting harder and harder to get. Hunters still lists it in their catalog and I bought some recently. I hope it doesn’t go off the market completely, but that is the way of synthetic materials, here today gone tomorrow.

Have you tried the Cascade Crest Tools site? They make some products with “Glimmer” in the titles. Great manufacturer in Oregon really. Up by Table Rock. All sorts of items-some which are branded by Orvis too.

Also a company in AU, Tiewell, has similar products.

Google these companies… Might find something there…
