While fishing in N.C. years ago, I watched a fellow fishing with a light spinning rig with a fly and three split shot. He was doing quite well, so Iasked what fly he was using, and he said it was a local pattern called MY.PET. I bought a few the next day ,but have not seen it for sale in years, an have. for gotton just how it was tyed . If any of you in N.C. or TENN. know the correct recipe for MY PET. I would appreciate it.

Ed, what other details might you share about the fly such as size, color and such?
ed,
Would you happen to have even one left? You could shoot us a picture of it, and someone here would be able to come up with a pattern.

Ed,
Contact Roger Lowe at Lowe Fly Shop in Waynesville. He ties and sells the My Pet and I am sure he would provide the recipe.

Hi Ed,
In reviewing Roger’s book Fly Pattern Guide to the Great Smoky Mountains on page 34 I believe the recipe deserves a bit of further review regarding the wing case. The wingcase covers the complete body (Tellico or scud style). I suggest you visit Roger’s web site and purchase his great book. It’s not very expensive and worth every dollar it costs. There’s a couple of other flies in the Dry Fly Section that are absolute “killers.” Take care & …
