Fly Fusion Magazine

After reading Fly Fusion Magazine ( A Board Sponsor ) I tied some flies. Inspired by two articles, Wiggle Butts and Full Motion Hex.

I tied a articulating Clouser Deep Minnow and The FMH. Both worked great.

In the past I had trout hit a wooly bugger short, if the tail was too long. So I tied some Articulating Soft Hackle Wooly Buggers.

:rolleyes:

Those look great. Out here, we’re only allowed one hook, so we’d have to cut off the front one.

I also like the patterns and will have to try some. The articulating sections are connected to the front section with a heavy pieces of mono?

I also really like the soft hackle buggers.

Rick

I like the idea of articulated flies. However I haven’t had a chance to use them much.
For the sake of discussion I note many of the flies pictured don’t have a rear hook. Wouldn’t that still leave the issue of short strikes?

Clay: You can use mono, on these I used 17 Lb coated wire leader material.

ducksterman; Sorry for the confusion. The first two were patterns similar to the ones in the magazine. The third was kind of a combination of the two, intended to solve the short strike problem. The jury is still out on that one. Haven’t fished it yet.

Ron, I was referring to the flies in the Fusion article.

Ron;
Bring some down and give them a try on the Elk!

P.S. The Duck was stocked Thursday!
