Fly Fishing hat

You will NEVER see me post current or recent (post 2003) photos of myself and I have my reasons. To each their own.

I love mysterious;)

And, you know mine!!

When my wife and I attended the Texas Regional Fish-In at Sattler TX. I bought a XXXX Beaver Stetson, for my fly fishing. Beaver is water proof, the wide brim of my Stetson keeps the rain from pouring down the back of my neck, fly fish hooks from getting attached to my ear lobes, and keeps my smokes dry by storing them inside my Stetson…

I have always wanted to own a Genuine Stetson, and when I had a chance to purchase one while in San Antonio Texas, I did not hesitate…

I have now had this Stetson for over 10 years…and I would not use any other hat for fly fishing…

Like this gentleman, I’m partial to the “up-downer”

I have a Stetson Bear Creek that is about 8yrs old now…which I love. But it’s a cold weather hat for me and doubles for an archery season hat as well. No way I can use it in the warmer months for fishing.

But you got hair to cover your ears, I don’t even have hair to cover the area between my ears. I did gain a new cap my friend who moved back to Michigan from Georgia brought me a Michigan Fly Fishing Club cap.

Women generally pull their hair back into a pony tail either with a rubber band or the hole in the cap. But the top of my ears burn very badly so I will wear a buff over my cap and across the beak when I wear a cap.

Joni, you have a choice with what to do with your hair, my choices have be limited. When mother nature gives you a 6 inch part you are pretty much stuck with it. I do have a nice collection of caps and hats.

The first time I went to the desert in the mid '70’s with the Army National Guard the top of my ear burned, first time ever. I figured out it just sun exposure. At first I thought it was because I unthinking left my flight helmet turned up exposing the black ear muffs inside, because when I put it on I had to get it up where the muff did not touch my ears.

Burnt ears hurt bad and you don’t realize they mive when you chew and talk, let alone try to brush your hair.

Thanks!! just kidding!

You’re skeering me girl!!

LOL just a dried up ol’ bag o bones…

Not quite, I’m sure!!

I wear a wool felt fedora or a straw fedora

I can’t get them to stay on my head!

I got me that buff last time I went to bps, I put it in my fly fishing pack and forgot about it…you reminded me of it. That’ll do until I find me a hat. Thanks!

Hello everybody, I did find what I was looking for. Pretty cool hat “Real Deal Brazil”. Here’s a pic of it.
