My worse!! I have propagated both and raised hundreds of both.
Chukar Partridge “Alectoris chukar”. Not Native to the USA but considerd game birds in many States.
Himalayan Monal “Lephophorus impeyanus”, commonly called Impeyans.

There are 14 sub species of the Chuker and a true Albino. (which I have raised a lot of also, which are much desired for tying)

Just some info for any wanting to know the entire story. Both lend themselves well to fly tying.

Ah Shucks Duck, I do not know why I had fixed on a color that Art had posted on a duck he had that I was not familiar with some time back.
I made one other mistake once, I think.
Was a fun material drill though. Thanks all.

What is a floss burnisher? I’ve never heard of it. How is it used?

Floss is tough to lay out smooth without some care while wrapping. It will not lay out perfectly, even then. A burnisher is rubbed up and down the floss body all the way around to smooth it out.

I first turned these to burnish rod windings and use the “harder” edges to push the wrappings into just the right place and also to burnish the thread.
