Anyone know any good flies for speckled trout. I will be fishing for them in island creeks (if that helps any). Also does anyone know how far down these trout typically feed? I’m really out of my element here so any info would be appreciated.

I’d recommend Clouser minnows in sizes and colors to match the predominent baitfish along with a couple of simple foam poppers.
I caught a ton of specks when I lived on the Florida Panhandle, and while I didn’t catch many fly fishing I found that when the fish were actively on the feed lure selection wasn’t much of an issue.

I am taking a trip to bald head island, and attempting to gather some info. I don’t think many people here have fished there, but its on the southernmost cape island in North Carolina.
