Flag Day

Today is Flag day. The anniversary of the official adoption of the American flag by the Continental Congress in 1777. My flag will be waving proudly at the top of the pole.

Rocky

Hey Rocky,

No flags waving here today. Too much
wind with Alberto making his way through
the area.G But it waves in our hearts
today as it does every day.G Warm regards, Jim

If anyone needs, there is a spare one one the main page. Feel free to adopt it for the day.

Our little village of Manchester, Michigan’s main street has 60 flags on display today. I went into town at 7:00 this morning and helped other American Legion vets put them out. We have perminent pole holders in the side walks and each 3x5 ft flag is on a 12 ft wooden staff. Quite a sight on a beautiful sunny day like today. God Bless America.

Jim I hope you come thru Alberto with out getting to wet. I don’t know how people in your part of the country can put up with it year after year. I will pray that all goes well for you till this storm passes.

Jonezee it sounds like your town is alot like my little town of Coquille Oregon. Ever since I was a kid I can remember the flags being put out in the same type of permanent holder on the wooden staffs. And when I came home from work this morning they had them all up and waving. As you say, quite a sight.

Rocky

Remember the song “You’re a Grand Old Flag”.
For me it says it all.

Eric “nighthawk”

American veteran and proud of it!

Amen to that Eric.
