Dave, If he falls in its into 3’ or water at about 72 degrees, and he has on shorts so any swimming is easy.
Its not 58 degree water (or colder) with waders, 20’ deep and a rip coming across the bar or a strong surf. He doesn’t have to contend with waders filling up and he’s more worried about boiling in the water than hypothermia.
