My son and I have been hitting a local tailwater, a few lakes and some warm water streams this summer. We’ve caught a few fish, but mainly it’s been fun fishing with him. Below are some pics from the tailwater. We caught some fish and had a good time.
If you look closely at my photo, you’ll notice I’m all decked out in my fishing gear and wearing tennis shoes. I got all the way to the stream (about an hour drive from home) and when I opened my duffel bag, I realized my wading boots were sitting at home in the garage just where I left them the last time I had been out. Fortunately, the water is not too deep or too swift. The rocks were slick and the soles of the tennis shoes do not have the same grip as my felt sole wading boots!.
I hope you enjoy the pictures. These are thumbnails. Click on the image to see the full size.
I have that same net. It doesn’t get much use, but I carry it mainly for looks and to net other people’s catch.
You’re probably not the last person to forget a crucial item when going fishing. Went fishing recently with a fella and drove 1/2 hour to the spot, only to discover he left his vest in the motel room. I went fishing and he went for a drive. It happens.
Wow! Not too expensive! Very practical!
Thanks,
Doug
Doug,
That’s what I was thinking as well. At the price, if it does not work, I won’t feel too bad and can buy another. So far, it seems to be holding up well. Of course, it does not get a lot of use either
I started out with (and still have) that same net. There’s the additional advantage of the long shock cord on the handle - I just had that tied right to the tag on the back of my vest.
