I do not like canoeing, so I am only interrested in wading.
Please, can you help me with some hints?
Also, I would like to know if fishing is open all year round, or is there a closed period, for spawning? If yes, when is it?
And also, if you go fishing you can not wade a water if its banks are privately owned?(in Europe, you are allowed to…).
So, if I don’t want to use a boat or a canoe, can’t I just wade from a public acces area? What happens if I get too far and the land becomes privately owned?
Please enlighten me
Thank you in advance.

this topic is one of much legal wrestling and shouting and fighting here in Oregon. Supposedly, you may wade a river and fish a river from below the river’s high water mark. So much land is in private ownership and much water is impossible to get to. Vandals and fools who leave their trash on property are the culprit. Yes, if varies by state. I am lucky. I can wade my river for miles.
I live in Virginia, I don’t know the regulations arround here, and couldn’t find them on the www.
Hope I will be able to dip a line soon, whitout being arrested for it
