Anyone here do any fishing in Cancun in June? I will be there for a few days in June and would like to spend a day fishing. TIA
I have been south to Punta Alan bone fishing. This was my first time so nothing to compare it to, but I was impressed. It is a long rough drive, but you get away from the city and see a lot of the culture. You can go deep sea fishing form Cancun, but not sure what the closest fly fishing would be. My experience with deep sea fishing was not so great.
We had a presentation at our local flyfishing club last night about fishing the Caribbean including Cancun and Ascension Bay areas. June was recommended as an excellent time to go, as the weather is better (less wind, less tropical storms), and that fishing for Bones and Permit was real good then. It is a tough time for us Alaskans to go then though, because our fishing is getting into prime time up here. But I trust this presenter, as he had no financial interest in recommended time (not a lodge owner / trip booker), but rather a guy who has fished those areas over 20 times in years past.
