FisherKid93(my son)

I just wanted to tell everyone THANKS for giving my son FisherKid93 advice on how to tie the “Basic Nymph”. He loves to tie and is learning fast. I told him I could help him with his Basic Nymph question but he said he’d rather ask FAOL because they could give him more “Professional” advice. LOL I said you are probably right, but old dad sitting right here can help you too. Thanks Everyone!! I appreciate you helping him. Kids sure can pick up tying skills fast and he is doing really well.

Same here, my son gets home from school, checks FAOL. Then calls me at work to tell me about the flies he has tied.

My son and I took fly tying lessons together, when he was 7 years old. Today he’s 31, lives in the same town, and ties flies with about a dozen other guys, ranging in age from 26 to age 78.

Seven went on a fishing trip together last weekend, where my son outfished me Friday, Saturday and Sunday—I ranted and complained and loved it. It was a great weekend.

We ran into a guy my son went to law school with, fishing with his dad.

We agreed that the greatest fishing partner, is the child you raise and get to fish with all your life!

Great post. My attempts with my son didn’t go so well, although he continues to tell that his fishing will come in time. Somewhere in college there until I was about a year into my first job outside of graduation I didn’t touch a fish of any kind except for a fork in some catfish restaurant. So I’m hoping. JGW
