Weather Check:

I just checked the 10 day forecast. Thursday is the only cold day, high 67, Low 45. Friday starts a warming trend Low 50, high 70. Saturday 53/73, Sunday 56/75. Sunny all days with minimal chance of rain. Winds are generally light, 5 to 10.

Tides are another matter. A nice strong incoming tide in the mornings then flattening out the rest of the day. Best fishing around Dunedin will be early on all mornings, probably about 7:00 to 10:00 am, but should be OK all day long.

Good luck, good fishing and hope to see you there.

I was out fishing for grayling yesterday in snow and hail in a bitter north wind which sliced you in two. All being well should be landing tomorrow night. From the ridiculous to the sublime in half a day. I love it.

I am gonna tie some Clousers and pretend.

Bill

LOL… Thanx purebs… 'G" A job or fishing in sunny Florida, with the FAOL folks. This is gonna be hard, “G” My son said he likes food, what to do, what to do… lol

Grubb,
Does your son like the taste of fish?
Mike

Bill

Does any have the heart to tell Grubb that it is really Thursday? I think he was trying to get me. I read this and wondered why I could not remember working on Thursday.

Grubb the fish-in started a few days ago, with some of the northern pirates arriving early. The real fun will start tonight when the Dude hits Bill’s house. Bill will get exactly 2 hours sleep tonight, and look like crap tomorrow.
Here is what will happen at Bill’s house tonight.
They will start sharing life, and the time will slip away. No one will be tired they will be running on excitment. Then someone will glance at a watch and be amazed it is 3:00am. That is what happend at my house back in November. Most fun I have had in a long time, and I am a little jealous of Bill and Jill. The Dude can keep a conversation going for hours. His taste in race car drivers leaves a little, but all in all he has great stories.

I am sure that Bill will need massive amounts of coffee tomorrow morning when I get there.
For all of those that are unable to attend, start planning right now for next year. Dates have not been set and we are not sure who will host it yet, but it will be fun. It will be in Florida, and it will be warmer than it is in Canada.

Naw, let him enjoy, it will be hard enough when he wakes up. Hope you all have fun. I’ll be taking my 6 wt to the gym over lunch to pretend I’m in Florida for a few minutes.

Car’s all packed.

Gulf water temp is about 64F. Just a bit too cold to wade wet and a bit too hot to wade dry. Red tide reports seem to indicate it moving southward.

See you all there.

64 degrees is plenty warm to wade wet, particulary if you are from yankeeland. Just wear a sweetshirt and don’t get to deep. I’ve been reading the fishing reports and it looks good for specs. Redfish are a little iffy and snook are still hiding in the canals.

Honeymoon Island is beautiful this time of year. I will try to give some of my favorite spots in the morning. I’m sure Bill can add some more. It was foggy this morning but cleared early. The tides are real funny right now and will be high most of the day. This is good for the redfish since they will come up on the flats as the water warms.

See you in the morning

Grubb;

I will be taking my camera but I will not take it into the water. I will shoot some of all the people fishing with Sue and I, and I will take some at breakfast plus I will of course be taking pictures of Mike teaching the class and Bill cooking. The one picture I really want to take is Flats Dude getting caught getting kissed by all the ladies.

I am not taking my laptop, so it will be next week before I do any posting. But I will get the pictures done asap.

Weather looks great for tomorrow.
I am hoping the sunsets are good so I can take a bunch of those.
